Its going to be another busy day, and cleaning and organizing may come to the top of our lists. Today would be an excellent day to initiate any new projects or investments focused on our homes and families under the Cancer New Moon. Its going to be a good day to spruce things up around the house, or perhaps cook a special meal for the family. General Tendencies For All Sun Signs

July looks like a good month to get things done. Mercury's retrograde is over, and the eclipses won't be coming to visit again until August. Mars and Saturn, and then later Mars and Jupiter, are the only outer planets that will be aspecting one another this month, and that may increase our stamina and willpower. So, write down those goals, and see how many you can check-off before July 31st.

Things will be in the process of change during the first few days of July. Mars will enter Virgo on July 1st, and we may be in the mood to work.

The Cancer New Moon is July 2nd, so it will be a good time to invest our energies in our homes and families.

Venus will be at a standoff with Jupiter on Wednesday and Thursday, July 2nd and 3rd, and that can bring impractical decisions at the least. There may also be some affairs beginning and extra flirting going on at that time. There could be some sudden sarcastic words said, and some of us may be worrying about nothing on July 4th and 5th. But, the weekend gets better as it goes on. By Sunday, July 6th our thoughts will turn to beauty and romance, so save the Independence Day parties until Sunday.

Things will fire up again by Tuesday, July 8th. The Sun will be out of balance with Jupiter, and this could bring some bad-luck and some extravagant behavior. Also, some projects may turn out to be a waste of time through Wednesday.

Mercury will be crossing into Cancer on Thursday, but he will have to fight with Pluto in the process. Jealousy and fear may crop up as early as Wednesday. But, Mars and Saturn will be joining forces throughout this period, and that means mature conduct. "If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;... you'll be a Man my son!" Keep your head (especially Capricorn and Aries), and this event may even bring you blessings.

Loving Venus will enter playful Leo on Saturday July 12th ushering in a sweet weekend. The Sun and Uranus will be singing together, bringing new inspirations. By Sunday, Mercury will be winking at Mars, and Saturn deepening and energizing our intellects. Work will feel like play for the next few days, or we may find ourselves passionately diving into our personal creative projects. It will be a great weekend for parties, and the feelings will continue through Wednesday, July 16th.

The Capricorn Full Moon will be on Friday, July 18th, at 3:59 AM EDT, and then it will go void of course. So, we are going to be feeling the effects of this Full Moon on Thursday. I said this would be a month to work, and Capricorn represents the hardest worker of the zodiac. Try to finish up projects by Friday, because Mercury will be out of balance with Jupiter on Saturday. That could bring some bad-luck or bad decisions.

The Sun will enter Leo on July 22nd, and Mercury and Uranus will be there to excite and stimulate our minds. July 21st, 22nd, and 23rd will all be great days for social events and making new friends.

The Moon will enter slow and steady Taurus on Friday, July 25th, and Mars and Jupiter will be singing in harmony through the weekend. Enthusiasm will be strong, and our energies will be expanding. But, we will also be very grounded with the Taurus Moon watching over. The Moon will enter Gemini on Sunday, and then the pace will pick up. We may find ourselves accomplishing miracles over the next couple of days. We will be ready for short trips and active conversations through Tuesday, July 29th as the Sun and Mercury join forces.

The month ends with Venus and Neptune arguing, and a solar eclipse one day away. Yes, the eclipses will begin on August 1st! We may not be thinking clearly, and we may be going to extravagance. And... Change is ringing the doorbell. Be a boy scout this month and get prepared. If we wait until the last minute, there is a strong likelihood of mistakes. On a worldwide scale, I believe that a lot of karma shall be collected from the Western nations by the continuing Credit crunch.

As Economists, let alone Numerologists will point out you cannot forever borrow money without there being a point when you have to pay it back or suffer the consequences.

I write this from the UK, where each day the News is full of doom and gloom about the latest thing that's gone up. Fuel, food, Gas, Electric, Air Flights, Inflation, and Interest Rates - you name it and they're going up.

It is becoming harder and harder for people to make ends meet.

That doesn't make for pleasant reading or painting a rosy future, but people and governments are being forced to be more responsible and live within their means. Surely, that's got to be good for the whole planet.

Along with this Economic gloom, I see people making things last longer. Re-cycling is increasing; people are growing their own food again. People are car sharing when commuting to and from work.

People are taking in lodgers and renting out their homes to strangers in order to earn more money.

Next thing you know we'll actually start talking to our neighbours again and having community economy drives where we'll recycle goods amongst ourselves and go back to the old virtues of 'waste not want not'.

People may actually come out of their dingy rooms where they've hidden away on computers for years and start to appreciate the world they live in, nature, friendships, families, animals, the Sea, countryside,....

So, that's how I see this being a Karmic month. I hope I'm right.

As far as money and power is concerned, I hope that those in power appreciate what they have and use it for the good of everyone - shared wealth, rather than those who have everything and those who have nothing.

I feel like I've drifted from my usual tone and have become a little political - that's the 8 influence. Sometimes, you just have to voice your opinions, don't you?

The Cancer Personality

Cancer is synonymous with the Moon. The two are symbolically linked. In astrological jargon the Moon rules Cancer. All descriptions of Cancer include security issues and emotions, both of these smacks of the Moon.

The Moon brings change, quick change; like the tides and twenty-eight day cycles. The Moon is one thing one minute and something else the next; dry-eyed then a down pour. The Moon also has loony qualities, like at the Full Moon when there is howling and all manner of strange occurrences.

Take into consideration all of the above, but do not ever under estimate a Cancer person. He or she is the keeper of the past, the smartest, the fastest, and the prettiest and beyond. This is the one person who remembers family history and genealogy because family is the center of their very being.

Cancer often talks about how he or she feels rather than how he or she thinks. This is because Cancer is a water sign. Fluid by nature, Cancer people will navigate their life through emotion rather than logic. Watery reactions can be intense and painful. In crisis, Cancer's vulnerability is exposed. This is when the "crab" symbol appears. Life sometimes requires Cancer folk to hide from the world and to seek a safe haven inside their "shell". The world can be a treacherous place and a crab can maneuver zigzag fashion to avoid head-on-collisions.

ARIES (March 21-April 20) Aries may suffer with headaches this month. You should be mindful of anything having to do with your head. Wear a hat in the sun and all that good stuff. On the job you will have to deal with authority and perhaps there is a conflict of interest. Cosmic Advice: This will be an unusual month for communicating. The energy is at first all over the place, then more emotional and finally full of self-expression. Money can be spent at home and on entertaining.

TAURUS (April 21-May 20) Taurus has the capacity to be very creative this month. The energy is very compatible. Working with children is a possibility, perhaps in a teaching capacity or some type of authority. Communicating takes a few different turns this month. You may at first be discussing money, then what to do with it locally and finally how to spend it at home. Cosmic Advice: Take advantage of the position of your guardian angel. You can travel to places far away or travel in your mind.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21) Gemini may be disturbed by the demands of family. Something or someone is putting pressure on you, asking you to be responsible. This goes against your grain this month. Normally Gemini seeks independence. This month being independent has a price to pay. Cosmic Gossip: You can speak your own language in the first part of the month. What is said is clear and may cover multiple topics. You do this with ease. Talk turns more emotional mid-month and ends with a host of opportunities coming locally.

CANCER (June 22-July 22) Cancer may have to guard what is said and done to others. There is a tendency to be firm and a bit authoritative this month. Someone close by may not feel well. Be mindful of visiting an older relative. Cosmic Advice: You have been silent over the last several weeks. Silence does not mean you were not thinking. Actually there has been lots of thinking. You will be ready to speak out about ten days into the month. Those around you would be advised to listen.

LEO (July 23-August 22) Leo needs to be careful this month when it comes to money. The purse strings are tight and this could be a strain. Protesting will not change things very much. Remember to lock your car and not to be careless with your wallet. Someone could steal from you. Cosmic Advice: You can learn much through friendships but for a few weeks you should spend more time contemplating before you go and put your feet in your mouth.

VIRGO (August 23-September 22) Virgo may be very impatient. You are not making friends. Your quick retorts are causing some alienation problems. Try to take the time needed to understand what the other guy is trying to do. Demands are what keep you going. Cosmic Advice: At the office you have the attention of your peers. You have spoken and many have listened. This will carry over to your friends and only after that will you want to rest. `

LIBRA (September 23-October 22) Libra has some secrets to keep this month. Do not try to counteract this possibility. Maybe what you know needs to be kept to your self. Much of what is not spoken has gone around before; seems like not much has changed. Cosmic Advice: You have the support of family and that is huge.

SCORPIO (October 23-November 21) Scorpio continues to demonstrate their affinity for leaping before looking. There is this feeling of being held back. Older acquaintances are valuable to your success. Old friends are the best. Hopes and dreams need attention; the old dreams may have gone stale. Cosmic advice: Conversations revolve around money not yours but money held jointly or that comes from other sources. By the time the month ends you might have enough cash to put into your own endeavors.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22-December 21) Sagittarius may find his or her self in a position of authority. Lots of people are looking to you for answers and for guidance. You are held in high esteem. This is all because of what you accomplished in the past. This is your reward. Cosmic Advice: You are speaking adeptly to your partner or in one-to-one situations and as the month progresses look for the shift into joint holdings and then to travel. You could use some of that money to take a nice trip.

CAPRICORN (December 22-January 19) Capricorn is feeling very restless but you are wearing cement shoes and can't seem to move off your dime. Unable to shake that feeling of being tied to your job, the kids, routine or your life is tough this month. Cosmic Advice: Travel plans get delayed or getting used to the idea of travel having more rules and expensive keeps you from just taking off.

AQUARIUS (January 20-February 18) Aquarius is using his or her very honest approach for just about everything. Aquarius is not cut out to lie. Money that is held jointly may be drained. You need money for this and money for that, so there is always something to contend with. Cosmic Advice: Keep yourself busy and don't fret over anything.

PISCES (February 19-March 20) Pisces has some lessons to learn about partnership. Did I hear a groan? Yes, a groan and a sigh of relief. You may be involved in some highly competitive situation. Whether as observer or as a participant, this is the kind of time when having a friend is what we strive for. Cosmic Advice: There be can a mark of serious intent to harm. Try to squash this unhappy sentiment and be ready to face the next day.

- One Last Dance, Then Off to Work

I don't talk much about Pluto transits, because Pluto is a very slow outer planet that takes about 250 years to make one orbit around the Sun. Pluto is in retrograde motion almost as much as he is moving direct, but this Pluto retrograde is special.

This will be Pluto's last adventure in Sagittarius for our lifetimes, and our children's and grandchildren's lifetimes. And, its all happening just in time for the 2008 presidential elections.

Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth, and he digs deep to uncover secrets. I wonder how our elections will turnout? Presently we are seeing more documentaries and news programs exposing the truth about the voting corruption in the 2000 presidential elections.

We are also being educated about the decisions made in the White House, the CIA, and the Military concerning our involvement in the war in Iraq. When planets are on the cusps between signs, they are the most touchy. Pluto has been in Sagittarius since 1995, but now (2007 and 2008), as he crosses into Capricorn, is when we are seeing the big flare-ups.

Pluto actually left Sagittarius and entered Capricorn back on January 25th, but he turned retrograde in April and is now moving back into Sagittarius for the last time.

Its time for one last dance, one last adventure, before Pluto moves to a more serious focus. Sagittarius loves to laugh and wander, but Capricorn represents hard work and discipline.

Pluto's last few months in Sagittarius may bring us to a higher awareness, especially at a community level. A few heroes could emerge as Pluto traverses his eleventh hour in Sagittarius, and we may actually rescue ourselves from some of the government corruption that has been going on since Nixon. We may decide to stand up and take responsibility for our governments.

Pluto will enter Capricorn just a few months before our next president will take office. The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was in the 1760's and the 1770's. Capricorn represents authority figures, and Pluto brings destruction and rebirth -- the American Revolution. There was also the French Revolution and the establishment of Napoleon as a modern dictator. I wonder how Pluto in Capricorn will affect our next president and congress? Don't forget to vote!

Pluto will be at 29 degrees Sagittarius throughout most of this transit, so its time to look at your natal chart. Any planets or power points at 29 degrees (plus or minus 2 degrees) in Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, or Virgo will be dealing with endings and beginnings. If you have any planets or power points at 29 degrees (plus or minus 2 degrees) in Aries or Leo, you may find you are able to make powerful changes in your life at this time.

If there is a connection to the moon phases and hair cuts, what is it? What does it mean? Inquiring minds want to know. Others simply use the knowledge and know that it works.

The astrology sources collected for the monthly charts are based on traditional lore. You might declare that they are made of whims and wishes, but direct experience over time bears them out to those who put it to the test.

On the astrological side, the ongoing debate for the Pisces/Cancer poll is at 66% in favor and 33% opposed. The poll question asks if you agree about the recommendation to avoid hair treatments during the Pisces and Cancer moons.

My moon phase hair experiment is a success for my needs. The coloring product that I use has a 28-day recommendation. I wonder if the folks who made the 28-day product had the moon cycle in mind when they mixed the formula. I chose a waning moon in Virgo to color roots for slow re-growth and it lasted 46% longer than I would normally expect. The second coloring lasted the extra 46% of time as well.

Getting back to the question of how and why the moon phases work with hair cuts and hair treatments, we have already discussed the astrological qualities of Virgo and Aquarius that make them beneficial moon signs for coloring. The mutable quality of Virgo is flexible, versatile, and adaptable. While Aquarius is a fixed sign, it offers the aspect of change. Both signs appear to fit the bill for the condition of change that occurs in the act of coloring hair.

The recommendation to use the waning moon to slow growth goes along with gardening techniques and the movement of water in plants. It is now a well-known observation that after the full moon, leaves grow less than they do during the waxing phase of the moon. So, we take advantage of the diminished moisture to perform a hair treatment during the waning moon to slow down a process.

Let us set astrology aside for a moment. Some people contend that since hair is considered dead it is therefore not possible for it to be affected by any source whatsoever. I have an interesting experience to share with you on this topic, and you may have had a similar one yourself. I will never forget it.

With respect to the memory of my father, here is the story. On the sad occasion of his passing, I entered the room for the private viewing before the funeral service. Everyone said he looked fine and I looked around in surprise that no one else could see it. His hair was straight as an arrow! I quickly asserted to the funeral director that this was not how my father looked when he was alive. His hair had a particular wave to it that was missing and it made a striking difference to me to see it like that.

This personal experience showed me that the hair was indeed linked to the energy of being alive, not dead. When I consider the energetic pressure that I feel building towards the Full Moon and its almost magical release afterwards, I can easily perceive that it is possible to have an energetic relationship between hair treatments and the moon phases. We cannot necessarily see such forces at work, but we do experience non-physical forces all of the time. People have varied responses to explanations about the moon cycle. Whether explanations about moon phases and hair appear to be on target, or not, perhaps a little mystery in life can be a good thing.
